“Hot Chick” Recipe

It’s important to remember that cutting salt out of your diet does not mean cutting TASTE out of your diet. The following recipe is full of flavor and zest. It is SPICY.  I present to you one of my favorites, Hot Chick Chicken.

What you’ll need:

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, slice across the grain to make 4 pieces

2 chicken sausages, cooked, sliced into 1 inch pieces

1 fresh, sliced green pepper

1 sliced onion

1 potato sliced in 1 inch cubes (optional)

4 oz. sliced mushrooms

1/3 cup white wine

3 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp Ed Hitzel’s Hot Kick Everything Spice

What you do:

Preheat 2 tbsp olive oil in large skilllet on medium heat. Sprinkle my spice liberally over chicken. Brown chicken to 160° internally, be sure it is cooked through. Remove and keep warm.

Brown sausage in skillet, remove and add chicken to keep warm.

Add remaining olive oil and vegetables to skillet. Sprinkle with additional spice to taste, add wine, cover and steam for five minutes. Add meat. Simmer gently to warm and blend flavors.

Serve with crusty bread to cool the tongue in between bites. Add a side of rice or salad. Be sure to pair the meal with the wine it was cooked in.
